The Afghanistan Care Package Fund

It is our mission to provide a little joy, compassion and support for our soldiers fighting in Afghanistan and other areas of the world, by supplying troops with personal items and goodies that the military cannot.

About Us

Welcome to our webpage.  My name is Kerri Stinton and I am the mother-in-law of Scott Tillman who is currently at war in Afghanistan.  He is a specialist with the 117th infantry out of Fort Lewis, Washington.  He is married to my daughter Krista who is left here in Iowa to do her best to keep living life until his safe return.  Well?  That can be very hard at times as I am certain anyone with a family member at war can empathize with.  This reality was something we only saw on T.V. or read about in the newspaper before Scott came into our family.  Unfortunately I am an average american with my head buried in the sand as to what these brave men and women are doing to protect ME!~~~  So after a couple of months of living in constant fear, not knowing if he is ok or not, I knew I had to do something to not only deal with my anxiety but to help them with theirs!  What better way then to send them special goodies and letters of support from the people they are risking their lives for?  I've been working on getting this idea up and off the ground the past few weeks and finally it is here.

We've set up an account at American bank called The Afghanistan Carepackage Fund where monetary donations are being accepted. With this money we will be purchasing special supplies to send over to the soldiers via carepackages. All monies will be used for purchasing supplies and shipping costs so please KNOW that every dime will be used fo soldiers.   These men and women are living in dangerous and uncertain conditions and need our support and compassion to get them through their days. Scott has been fortunate to have family and friends to mail him at least one package a week. He has made the decision to share his gifts with others because unfortunately some of the men do not receive anything from home. Either due to lack of family or financial situation. We tried to get list of names from the military to send directly to the individual but at this time they are not at liberty to giveout that information.  Confidentiality reasons.  So we will be trying to get the names from Scott.

This is so exciting and fulfilling getting this off the ground. I am so happy for the men and women to whom these gifts of love and compassion will be extended. Sometimes we human's have a tendency to get all self-absorbed and focus ONLY on what WE want, Or to get all hungup on a political view. No matter where you stand on why we should or shouldn't be there................we are!! These men and women need to know we are here hoping and praying for them and their families. Please consider this one way of accomplishing that goal.

Thanks again and may God bless you for your generosity.
Sincerely,
Kerri

"Christ has no body now on earth but yours; no hands but yours; no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which the compassion of Christ must look out on the world. Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which he is to bless his people."
